This is such an alarming number. According to researches, medical science reveals that one out of 85 people will be a victim of this disease by the year 2050.
Causes
Although a lot of mental disorders are caused because of a certain tragic event in the person’s life, Alzheimer is a disorder whose causes are unknown. In a very few, lets say 1 out of 1000 cases, the cause is found out to be genetic. But that isn’t a satisfactory answer for the doctors. Doctors also say that this particular disease leads to other diseases as well. For example, the loss of memory and depression.
Diagnosis
The diagnosis of this disease is done after a very long routine of checkup. The patient is asked about from family and friends. The symptoms of this disorder are studied over and over again and the symptoms present in the patients are referred to again and again. Clinical diagnosis doesn’t start until all the people involved in the patient’s life admit that he is suffering from Alzheimer. CT and other checkups are done to have a look inside the patient’s brain. The doctors try their best to remove all chances of other dementia developing inside the patient’s brain. The doctors then look at the parts of the brain that have been disturbed or affected. They try to cure the disease only if it is at a very first stage. Afterwards, no matter what they do, they can’t save the patient. The doctors have a critical view of the memory of the patient during diagnosis of the disease.
